Project name:Mainstreaming of Disaster Resilience into the NIP Study: Appraisal of standard agreements and contractual documents for projects under the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) to achieve disaster resilience goals
This study evaluates and enhances standard agreements and contractual documents related to infrastructure project financing and implementation across three key sectors: Roads, Power, and Railways. By enabling the integration of resilience features and parameters throughout the asset lifecycle, it aims to strengthen infrastructure sustainability and risk preparedness.
Guided by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, it examines Model Concessional Agreements, Standardized Bidding Documents, and policy frameworks.
The project introduces a Resilience Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) tool to assess resilience across an asset’s lifecycle, enabling informed investment decisions for long-term infrastructure viability.
the resilience framework
Impact
1
A comprehensive resilience integration roadmap and guidance framework will be developed for 5,000+ infrastructure projects across Power, Railways, and Road line ministries, ensuring alignment with India’s National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP).
2
This project will embed resilience principles into project planning, implementation, and long-term sustainability, fostering climate-adaptive, risk-prepared infrastructure that supports national development goals.
3
The project will develop scalable tools and frameworks that can be replicated in other infrastructure sectors and regions, thereby mainstreaming resilience in infrastructure development worldwide.
