Enhancing National and Sub-National Capacity for Resilient Infrastructure in Maldives

Implementing Partner: United Nations Development Programme

Project Name: Enhancing National and Sub-National Capacity for Resilient Infrastructure in Maldives

This project seeks to bolster infrastructure resilience in the Maldives by equipping island councils with the skills to manage infrastructure planning and maintenance across 187 inhabited islands exposed to climate risks.

A standardized resilience curriculum will be created and institutionalized for civil servants, fostering sustainable local capacity building and enabling decentralized service delivery.

Additionally, the project will investigate disaster insurance solutions for infrastructure, leveraging climate modelling and asset valuation to support sustainable recovery financing.
