Project Name: Socially inclusive strengthening of climate resilient infrastructure and action in Caribbean SIDS: Antigua & Barbuda, Dominican Republic, and St. Lucia

The project aims to enhance socially inclusive and disaster resilient education infrastructure, ensuring education continuity in the aftermath of disasters across four SIDS.

Core activities include conducting needs assessments, producing vulnerability reports, formulating strategic plans, and developing customized disaster preparedness training modules for creating resilient school systems.

To foster knowledge-sharing, knowledge products on building resilient educational infrastructure will be developed and disseminated across SIDS, paving the way for potential replication and scaling.

Impact

The project aims to bolster the long-term disaster and climate resilience of school infrastructure, while empowering participating Caribbean and global Small Islands to independently assess and evaluate their education infrastructure.

Resilience initiatives introduced through the project will be designed for replication and scaling across SIDS, accompanied by efforts to identify and expand co-financing options to support investments in disaster and climate-resilient school infrastructure.

By strengthening national capacities within participating countries, the project will contribute directly to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), which focuses on inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all.
