Impact

1

Reducing Flood Vulnerability with the Integrated Strategy for Drainage and Irrigation (ISDI) focuses on optimizing irrigation planning to strengthen investment prioritization, resource allocation, and resilience-building across Guyana’s vulnerable coastal regions.

2

By identifying at least two nature-based approaches alongside hard infrastructure enhancements, the project aims to bolster flood resilience for 675,000 people in five administrative coastal regions, while exploring sustainable financing avenues.

3

Through institutional strengthening and targeted capacity building, the initiative will improve public finance efficiency, catalyze private investment in agriculture and resilient infrastructure, and pave the way for sustainable development and long-term resilience.
