

Project name: Promoting climate and disaster resilient health infrastructure in Potrerillos, Pimienta and Villanueva cities of Sula Valley
The project strengthens the capacities of urban local bodies of three cities in Sula valley to upkeep their primary health care infrastructure resilient to floods, seismic disaster and heat.
The project will enhance the capacities of staff of the local bodies by equipping them to use data backed digital technical assistance platform to prepare and retrofit their primary health care centres to make them more resilient to potential future disasters.

Approximately 50,000 vulnerable individuals, including women, the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities, across three municipalities will directly benefit from improved and uninterrupted healthcare services provided by retrofitted and resilient primary care facilities in Sula Valley.

Approximately 30 local body officials will gain enhanced technical expertise in utilizing digital platforms to plan and retrofit primary healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, around 10,000 community members, including women, will benefit from increased awareness of resilient healthcare systems.

Approximately $600,000 has been allocated to prioritize and retrofit 24 primary healthcare facilities across three municipalities in Sula Valley, leading to potential annual savings of around $25,000 in operational and maintenance costs for these healthcare infrastructures.
